Leadership Update

As many of you already know, we are also in a season of transition in our leadership. After faithfully planting and pastoring Society Church over the past 10 years, we have stepped aside as Lead Pastors. After a long season of discernment, we have sensed an invitation from God to release this role of Lead and Co Pastors of Society Church to new leadership and fresh vision. Although this is bittersweet, we are very excited and hopeful for Society Church. We strongly believe that when God placed this longing in our heart 10+ years ago to plant this new work in the urban core of Downtown Sacramento, it was always with the understanding that this is God’s church, not ours. We have always tried to seek His will, His way. We are looking forward to praying for and serving this beautiful community in a new way and championing its new leadership. Our transition out of our role as Lead Pastors will begin in 2023.

What’s next for us? We plan to remain in Sacramento until the late spring.  We do know that we will be relocating out of Sacramento. We have some ideas of what the future could hold, but not much clarity yet. We know that God is preparing a place and a people that we are meant to be a part of for this next season of leadership ministry and family life. We can’t wait for Him to reveal that to us!

As we move forward into what God has next for us, we wanted to ask if you’d commit to praying for us. There are a lot of unknowns for our family right now. Our desire is to keep you updated and informed as God reveals things. We plan to post here semi-regularly.

Many of you have walked with us for many seasons of life. We want to honor our relationships and try to communicate things as best as possible. We are so grateful for your presence and your prayerful support. May this advent season be a time where you experience heaven coming to earth in new and unexpected ways. May it spur hope within you.
