“God with me” - written prayer

This is a prayer of acknowledging where God is at work within our life - in all seasons.

Consider reading this prayer and then re-reading it slowly, pausing to be still in between.

Asking the Holy Spirit to reveal to you where God may be wanting to highlight an area of your life and relationship with Him, that needs some greater attention. Is it in your past? Your future? Are you needing to experience Him more deeply in your present moment?

We engage in this time of communing with God, knowing that He is with us and we are expectant.

Come, Holy Spirit.

—————

God before me.

Who is the lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.

My Good Shepherd, who goes before me, preparing a way.

My protector. My guide.

Grow my faith and trust, as I learn to follow you.

God behind me.

Who sees every part of my story and begins to weave it all together.

Who redeems and restores the darkest parts of my life.

Who has been with me all along the way.

Help me to acknowledge my shortcomings and receive Your grace more deeply.

Show me your goodness that has always been with me.

God beside me.

My most faithful friend.

Who never leaves me, or forsakes our friendship.

Who holds my hand, cries with me and is a trusted space.

Can I delight more in our friendship today.

Show me the things I have not yet allowed You into as a caring friend.

God within me.

Who formed me and knows every part of me.

Who empowers me through Your spirit, alive and at work within.

Who takes my weakness and gives me strength.

Expand my awareness of You, here and now, as I commune with You.

Amen.
